About AffirmGear

A drawer of forty polos.

Faraz spent eight years buying apparel for sales and field teams. He kept forty conference polos in a drawer and wore none of them. We started AffirmGear because of that drawer. Today it's eleven of us in a West Loop office, with eight garments and no design that ever gets sold to a second company.

01
Why we're in Chicago
Both founders lived here and the first customers were here, so the office is in the West Loop. Three of the eleven are designers and two are production leads.
02
A wall of first samples
One wall of the office holds the first sample of every collection we've ever made. Faraz approves each one himself, with a loupe, counting stitches.
03
Where the beanie came from
It came out of winter conference season in Chicago. The band is fleece-lined and the knit is deep enough to cover ears fully, in one size for $28.

Our own production, piece by piece

Every fabric across the eight garments is OEKO-TEX certified. Faraz walks the production floor most mornings, and we check each piece by hand before it's sleeved with the wearer's name.

Faraz
Faraz Ahmed
Chief Executive Officer
The eight years he spent buying apparel were at two software companies. Most days he wears the navy pique polo with a tonal mark. The opinion he repeats is that a logo on a blank is a label, not a brand.
Suhail
Suhail Pothigara
Chief Technology Officer
He built the Design Studio after watching designers spend two weeks redrawing logos for thread. He wanted the software to do the first 80% in four minutes so a designer can spend the day on the last 20. The QC checklist app our packing team uses is also his, and he wears the black zip hoodie with the mark DTF-printed across the back.
